National Postal Museum - Traveling with the Mail

這是去年6月11日去Washington DC的遊記，那天早上去了National Postal Museum（國立郵政博物館），這篇是「Traveling with the Mail」（郵件旅行）。下面照片是在博物館大廳的挑高空間，也是這個展區的入口，有著用馬車運送郵件的大型模型。

這個展區的入口，敘述著過往年代的郵件遞送方式。

還有一種叫做「Pony Express」（小馬快遞）的郵件服務。

這個展櫃有很多Pony Express的東西，那個年代郵差還需要會騎馬耶，真的是不容易。

這個展區還有一個時空隧道，這裡有森林造景，試圖重現在1673年從紐約到波士頓的一條遞送郵件的道路。這條路真的很荒涼，也很暗，郵差真的很辛苦。

同場加映：這是另外一個展區「US & International Stamp Gallery」（美國與國際郵票藝廊）的入口，這個門看起來很森嚴的樣子，上面有好多機械機關。

展區其實很小，郵票全部都被收進這樣的展示櫃，這樣展示櫃的設計是避免郵票受到光照射的傷害。櫃子中間有把手，可以拉出來就可以放在裡面的郵票，排序是按照國家英文字母的順序。
