Washington International Competition for Strings

這是6月9日去Washington DC的遊記，前一天（6月8日）晚上我去參加了Washington International Competition的主辦單位Friday Morning Music Club的晚餐餐敘，這比賽是每年都有，不過每年比賽項目不一樣，鋼琴、聲樂、絃樂跟作曲，這些項目每三年輪流一次，今年正好是絃樂跟作曲。6月8日是該比賽第一天的絃樂準決賽，晚餐餐敘的時候主辦單位就說歡迎我隔天去參加第二天的絃樂準決賽，所以我隔天就去了，地點是在下面照片這個Benjamin T. Rome Hall，也是在下榻旅館步行距離就可以抵達的地方，這個建築物是George Washington University的一部分。

George Washington University其實沒有校園，學校的建築物就是散落在Foggy Bottom這一區，Benjamin T. Rome Hall這個建築物是該大學的音樂系館。

門口有貼著「Washington International Competition for Strings Semifinals」（華盛頓國際絃樂比賽準決賽）的指引標籤。

找了一下，也問了裡面的人，才知道從門口還要樓梯往下走才是準決賽地點，我比較晚到一點，大概早上九點半才到，抵達的時候正好是早上的中場休息。

看了一下程序單發現早上下半場還有三位參賽者，兩個小提琴，一個大提琴，不過後來知道其中一個小提琴沒辦法來到現場比賽，所以就棄權了。中午我想去市區逛逛博物館，所以我只聽到兩個參賽者的演出，不過還滿幸運的，我聽到那位大提琴，後來贏到了大提琴的第一名。

聽完之後走出這個建築物，看到了這建築物掛著George Washington University的旗幟，建築物的上方貼了好多海報還是廣告的。沿著這條路直走就可以很快抵達Foggy Bottom這個捷運站。
