National Museum of Natural History - Entrance

這是6月9日去Washington DC的遊記，那天中午抵達了National Museum of Natural History（國立自然歷史博物館）。可能那天還有女童子軍的大型集會「Rock Mall」在這附近，加上是星期六，天氣又很好，陽光很強烈，這個老少咸宜又免費的博物館自然就成了躲避烈日的好去處。下面照片是自然歷史博物館前的人行道，圓形的屋頂好像正在修繕中，我在入口前的小攤車買了一罐不是太便宜的礦泉水解解渴。

這是自然科學博物館的入口，那天人潮真的很洶湧，入口處有三個大型海報，由左自右是IMAX電影「Flying Monsters 3D」（飛龍）、特展「Titanoboa」（泰坦巨蟒）、常設展「Live Butterfly Pavilion」（蝴蝶花園）。可惜的是這三項，我這次都沒有看到。

一走進自然科學博物館一樓的圓形大廳，就看到這個博物館的大地標。看到這隻大象就是來到這個博物館的標誌，很多旅遊導覽書有介紹到這個博物館的，通常都是用這隻大象來代表這個博物館。

因為放在圓形大廳的正中央，可以用360度的各種方向看這隻大象。

其實還滿難拍到整張都沒有人的大象照片，拍照的時候整個圓形大廳都擠滿了遊客，zoom in是一個好方式把遊客從照片中移除。

不只是從一樓的圓形大廳可以看到這隻大象，在二樓展區的圓形走廊也可以看到。

這張也是在二樓圓形走廊拍到的大象照片，上面跟下面這兩張照片，zoom in這招就失效了，當天可以看到遊客真的很多。

另外DC的Smithsonian系列國立博物館都是免費入場，不過入場時都需要做安檢，也會有警衛檢查每個遊客的隨身包包，逛這些博物館最好是輕裝入場。
