Passengers at the Washington Union Station

這是去年6月11日去Washington DC的遊記，那天早上去參觀完National Postal Museum（國立郵政博物館），我就又回到Union Station（華盛頓聯合車站），時間已經快要中午，我想說在外面拍拍照之後，就進去車站裡面的昂貴寄物處（請參閱本部落格文章「Tiburon Lockers」）領取我的行李，然後就去美食街吃午餐。下面照片是車站外面的走廊，有歷史感的挑高空間很有氣勢。

車站外面走廊上方常常都還有像這樣兩個雕像放在上面。

車站外面的美國國旗跟路燈，那天的藍天很藍，天氣很好。

車站大門外面總是車水馬龍的，觀光客也很多，車站往前直走過去就是US Capitol（美國國會大廈）。去年三月有來過這個車站轉車的時候，有趁空檔去了Capitol繞繞，這次把時間花在郵政博物館，所以就沒打算再過去。

最後再拍一張車站外面的景色。

回到車站大廳的大型告示牌，我待會要搭的是下午二點二分的N. E. Regional 94的火車開往波士頓方向，因為DC這站是起站，所以當然會是準點，搭車的門是K26。

確定了時間，我就先去寄物處拿行李，再去美食街吃午餐，吃完回到了Amtrak火車站的候機室。

三月那次來的時候，我就見識了這個車站的人潮，誰說美國人不太坐火車，這排隊上車的人潮真的是很驚人。而且美國的火車不像台灣都沒有劃位，位子先搶先贏，先上車的人總是比較能找到自己喜歡的座位。不過還好美國人也不太會爭先恐後的，也是很有秩序地排隊。

我要搭的火車是下午二點二分的N. E. Regional 94開往波士頓方向，搭車的門是K26，螢幕上有黃標，上面寫著Boarding（上車中），拍攝時間是下午1點46分，所以大概車站只給乘客15分鐘的上車時間而已。在15分鐘要消化掉這麼多旅客，真的是不太簡單，難怪搭車的入口己擠滿了這麼多人。
