好多人都跟我一樣朝著紀念碑的方向走去喔，滿山滿谷的人潮沿著步行方向走進紀念碑的區域，頭一次發現這個紀念碑竟是如此地熱門，好多人也都跟我一樣拿著相機或手機一直拍照。
終於衝破重圍，近距離地看到了紀念碑，紀念碑周圍有一圈美國國旗。
在其中一個美國國旗下面仰頭看著華盛頓紀念碑，我必須說那天來到這裡真是個風和日麗的好天氣。
不過紀念碑周圍沒有辦法再靠近，都用網子圍起來了。感覺好像是在修繕什麼東西似的，不會是去年DC地區的地震修繕到現在吧。我還記得多年前來過這裡，沒有網子，是可以很靠近紀念碑的。
我後來發現我去的那天在紀念碑這裡有一個「Rock the Mall」的活動，下面照片是活動的舞台，那時有滿多表演的。上網查了一下這個活動，是寫說有超過25萬的女童子軍跟她們的家人一起聚集在這裡的一個年度性集會。
我接下來的目標是前往Natural History Museum（自然歷史博物館），所以我走向國家大草坪這裡，一邊就是華盛頓紀念碑。
國家大草坪的另外一邊就是US Capitol（美國國會大廈）。這大草坪這麼大也都是人潮，日正當中，又有點小颳風，好多人走路，草坪上都揚起不少沙塵，還是躲進博物館裡面比較是上策。
